This power supply runs very cool and has never gotten hot for me, especially compared to my old power supply. I have a 3090 and Ryzen 2700X currently. My previous power supply had a RX580 and a 2700X, and would get noticeably warm to almost hot at times- it was a coolermaster. The fan on it also ran all the time.In comparison, this power supply runs very cool even when stress testing my 3090 on benchmarks for several hours. With the 0db button enabled, the fan will only kick on when is necessary and it works really well. The power supply is has no problems cooling itself with or without the fan it seems!Overall, a great addition to my large case, and beefy system! Definitely would consider another ROG power supply in the future! This power supply has very responsive RGBA lights. The RGB cord is included but I suggest to connect the cord before you install it of course you don't need to plug it in but if you don't plug in the RGB cord it will constantly be red, although I have quite articulating fingers it was extremely hard to plug in. The cables that came with this power supply do not feel extremely high quality unlike the power supply itself, the cords also do not bend that much but they look pretty good. I previously bought a 50$ power supply that didn't work for my motherboard that supports a core i7 10 to 11 gen. This power supply comes with stuff to organize your cables and all the cables are included also the hard drive power cable is the same as the fan power cable. My conclusion is if you want a power supply for your PC so you can play Roblox then get this. The PSU arrived on the same day as ordered. It was shipped in an Amazon bag, but the box itself had been stored in an open condition (no exterior cellophane wrap). In spite of this, there was no evidence of tampering within the box, and all components were present. The PSU was wrapped in an anti-static bag inside a second box, but there was dust and insects on the inside. It was easy enough to blast these out with air, but slightly annoying after spending 300+ on it. I suspect this may have been from the factory. With the exception of that, the PSU performs fine. The real selling point here for me is the platinum rating and the side panel wattage indicator.Over the course of the last 6 months, I have slowly pieced together components for a new personal gaming PC rig. Between finding stuff through either Amazon or Newegg, waiting for stuff to slowly go on sale or come down close to the MSRP, was like fingernails on a chalkboard. Unfortunately, CoVid-19 has caused a lot of price gouging in various items, especially in the market of PSUs.When Amazon Prime day 2020 finally came around, I was excited to see what various computer components would be available. The last two items on my list were a PSU and RAM, of which the latter I ended up finding a good buy on a 32g RAM kit. However, I wasn't so lucky on finding the exact PSU to fit my needs. Not wanting to wait until Black Friday, I decided to bite the bullet and to find a top tier PSU, even if I had to splurge on it. I have already spent too much time trying to piece together components that I needed to build this computer incase something didn't work right out of the box.Since most of the components in my new gaming PC were from ASUS, this PSU caught my eye. I figured that it would tie into the rest of the components nicely, even though the price was about $30 more than I would have liked to have paid, but was it really worth the $155?? (...this PSU looks so pretty!!) After tossing and turning a few night, and seeing that it was quickly going out of stock, I went ahead and bought this bad boy.On the other hand, not to let you guys think this was an impulse buy, I did some extensive research on this PSU. First off, this particular model won't be found on any current heirarchy chart as ASUS uses another famous and good company that makes really great PSUs: Seasonic. Yup that's right, this uses a modified version of Seasonic's Focus Plus Gold series, which is considered a top end PSU. Secondly, the 10 year warranty was another reason that I knew this was a good buy as well. After waiting four days for this PSU to come in the mail (and practically losing sleep over it cause I was so excited to finally build my computer) I finally couldn't wait to rip the package open to see all what was inside. What I found was: The PSU itself (duh!), a translucent ziplock baggie with some nice magnets to either put on the PSU, PSU shroud or chassis of your PC case, some small stickers to place on the I/O side of the PSU, the installation booklet, some velcro strips, four screws, and in a separate, sleek looking nylon bag, all the cables necessary to hook up your components to your motherboard, including two SATA cables with four headers and a molex cable. The cables themselves are sleeved as a whole (not individually sleeved) in a sturdy, black nylon material and there are no "ketchup and mustard" wires insight. The SATA and the molex cables, however, are the standard flat black cables. These cables are also VERY long, considering that my case is a mid tower ATX case. These could probably easy reach components in a full tower cases using an eATX motherboard without the need for cable extensions. The cables are also very flexible, not stiff like some other PSU brands with flat cables. When I finally got everything hooked up, and turned it on for the first time, it was beautiful. Even though this PSU has a 0 dB button, with it turned off (the fan constantly running) the fan is virtually silent. In the end, I definitely don't feel guilty splurging on purchasing this product. I definitely recommend ASUS PSU to anyone that wants to add elegance and a reliable PSU to their PC build. It may be a little pricer than some of the other PSUs in the same category, but I guarantee you won't regret it!This replaced aCorsair 1200w ps that was failing. The cables are very sturdy and take up less room in my case so better air flow. The only thing off about it is the LED screen is upside down. The way they have it designed, for the LED to be right side up the fan would be blowing into the case instead of down and out of it.In full sized ATX cases the CPU cables will be too short. Otherwise fantastic.1000w? Who needs all that?me. i do.Asus always makes great stuff. This psu is no exception. It's pretty loud tho.Using to power a 6800xt. no problems of course. Si te sirvió mi reseña vota que te fue útilI have a Rog Thor 1200 W, Asus Maximus Hero Z590, i9 11900K and two EVGA RTX3090 FTW3 Ultras. The PSU has run okay for 4 months and now when I kick up both RTX 3090s at the same time the system crashes and reboots and no error code in reliability. I can run one card at a time on it but that is it.Note: the system is liquid cooled with active backplates so under load the GPU is only 45c and rear memory 64c so it isn't temps.Over the years, I bought many power supplies. I previously bought many corsair and Seasonic units. Although they were all great power supplies, this Asus PSU has significantly more flexible cables than other brands. For me, this is a great feature as I hate struggling to bend and move the 24pin and 8 pin cables. Corsair and Seasonic have more rigid 24pin and 8pin cables. I also like the fact that some of the cables included in the Asus PSU are individually sleeved and come with cable combs. If you are looking to build in a smaller, more cramped case, than the more flexible Asus cables make the Asus thor PSU an amazing buy. Keep in mind this 1200W PSU is a little longer than typical 850W PSUs. Also, the OLED screens looks amazing! Really helps you understand how much power your system takes. Overall, this is a great PSU and you can't go wrong with it. Highly recommended!
